I think so. Once these counters are finished we will finally be able to wrap up the other fixtures. It’s been a long journey for the 120 year old french oak that is our bar siding. Raised in Detroit, and more specifically on Gratiot, this wood has been salvaged after going through a fire, and numerous basement floods. It was charred, warped, moldy, and wet, but after countless hours and packs of blades for the planer, they are now breathing again! What’s new? The flag, the white subway tile, the pansies, and the metal going around the bar. Big thanks to our neighbor next door at Sugar House for the metal work! Be on the look out for this classic cocktail bar as they are on a similar timeline and hoping to open this summer as well. June?
